Frequently Asked Questions

What do you need to hire a vehicle?

1. A valid driver's license
2. A credit card
3. Must be 23+

Why the credit card? Can I pay cash?

We must authorise your credit card before the rental begins. The authorization amount is usually the rental + insurance excess. This amount does not come off your card; it simply gets blocked until payment for the rental is taken. At the end of the rental, you may pay cash.

What does the term excess (deductible) mean?
The amount the hirer is liable for in the event of an accident / theft before the insurance company will cover the remaining costs.

What is the difference between standard cover and super cover?

If the hirer chooses the super cover option, he/she will pay a higher daily rate, but the amount of risk in the event of an accident / theft is less. Amounts vary depending on the type of vehicle.

What would be in violation of the terms and conditions of the insurance?

1. Gross or Criminal negligence: eg: Drunk driving
2. Unauthorised drivers – i.e. names of additional drivers not listed on the rental agreement
3. Not reporting damage to the rental company immediately
4. Not adhering to traffic, road and driving rules and regulations
5. Driving under the influence of alcohol or any illegal substances
6. Unsuitable driving or road conditions
7. Unauthorised cross border rentals
